I received this book as a free first read What an amazing life Isakjan Narzikul had I was swept up in the details of his life and his journey to understand the societies in which he lived and operated in I think this book is an interesting illustration of how we all live under the propaganda that our own government feeds us We see the world through the eyes of what our government allows us or wants us to see Narzikul was taught in school to believe in the socialist ways that everyone is equal, t [...]

    6. Survivor from an Unknow War really surprised me I originally wanted it because I find WWII and books about the Holocaust very intriguing I love to learn about the side bits of history and this book blew me away It was difficult to read at times Not because of the inhumanity you would expect of that time, but the biographical nature of the story It didn t have a cast of characters per se but followed just one and that was at times slow If this had been my usual read I imagine I would have loved [...]

Because the area and language of the main character were unknown to me, I found this book hard to get into The author did a lot of research and I imagine the settings were in accordance with reality The book was somewhat stiff conversations were unnatural But all in all, the story of Narzikul was highly interesting and informing to what was happening during the time before and through WW II.
