    1. This book is fantastic I love how it makes school seem so exciting and how Brother and Sister bear are daydreaming all about school and thinking that they might even be teachers It encourages students to feel positively about school and what they learn It was an easy read and the vocabulary was appropriate It was very descriptive which draws the reader in even and makes them feel like they re a part of the story At school they started their day with the Pledge of Allegiance, and that is a good [...]

    2. I read this book aloud to my children They love The Berenstain Bears This is actually the perfect book to read at this time of year Some kids are reluctant for the summer to end, and The Berenstain Bears Go Back to School reminds kids of what they have to look forward to when they return The story is told in rhyming verse Unlike most of the other books in the Berenstain Bears series, this book is oversize 11 in x 8.5 in which is a nice bonus As always, the illustrations are bright and cheery a r [...]

    3. I love the Berenstain Bears, and have since my childhood We checked out this book from the library to help my daughter, who watches the show, get ready for kindergarten I was very disappointed The rhymes felt forced, and there really wasn t a story, just loosely connected verses I especially missed the moral that I remember being present in all the books I read in my childhood My 5 year old thought it was ok, though.

    4. Great new installment of the Berenstain Bears I loved seeing the old rhyming patterns come back This book is a bit long and wordy, but Kaity 4.5 still really enjoyed seeing all the fun illustrations I also liked how this back to school book didn t talk about being nervous to go back to school except for one of the teachers I get a bit tired of that since Kaity isn t nervous to start Kindergarten this fall until she reads a book that tells her to be.

    5. I always enjoy The Berenstain Bears books Unique rhyming that is simple enough to understand for all ages This would be a great book to read on the first day of school and they could do an assignment where they write about their first day of school or something The children listening to the book can have a discussion on similarities or differences they had to the bears on their first day of school.

    6. This book is fun to read aloud because of the rhyming Sometimes a couple of the rhymes seem forced and unnatural but overall it was okay This story is a great one right as summer is ending because it will get kids excited to go back to school It covers all of the fun things school has to offer and reminds kids how important and fun learning is and that there is so much for them to know I would definitely use this as a book to school book.

    7. I picked this story out at the library because I wanted a book that would warm up our girls to the idea of going back to school after a lengthy spring break Although this book focuses on starting a new school year in the Fall, it s still great for generating some discussion about the activities during the school day and the excitement of going back Classic Berenstain Bears rhyming narrative, illustrations, and homey feel to the story.

    8. This got some bad reviews, so I didn t buy as many copies as I may have, but it s not so bad it s a little bland, and there are certainly better 1st day of school books out there but its serviceable and will certainly be checked out by those kids who burn through all the popular character books.
