    1. A delightful little collection of often humorous sketches and concepts from the artists who have created some of the all time best animated movies ever I love them, and therefore found this book fun And it s good to see the creative process and wittiness of such people I wish I had similar talents, and envy those who do My son enjoyed thumbing through it too.

    2. There are few companies out there as innovative as Pixar One of the reasons for this is that they encourage creativity, and it s clearly demonstrated in the book Funny Twenty Five Years of Laugher from the Pixar Story Room The book is a collection of humorous drawings from Pixar story artists Comedy is a key part of Pixar s storytelling process filmmakers are often looking to add humor to their stories, but it has to come from the truth of the character and the circumstance. As artist Jason Katz [...]

    3. Fun, quick read Majority of the book was images, so flew through it pretty quick.Entertaining insight into the origins of ideas to Pixars films or humorous bits from the story department that didn t make it into the films.I ve always thought Pixar does some of the best storytelling, they get it and have told story after story that connects with audience Really cool to see the behind the scenes of their process.A lot of these gags as they call them, were either funny, clever, or a neat bit of art [...]

    5. Like many of the Pixar art books, this one suffers from a lack of information While it s great to see a book entirely dedicated to gag concept art, it would have been nice to get context or behind the scenes tidbits As is, the art itself is chuckle worthy with a few surprisingly irreverent pieces Let s just say that I would hesitate to show a couple of pages to younger Pixar fans I would only recommend purchasing this if you re a die hard Pixar fan, and even then I d only buy it used at a much [...]

    6. In this art book, we see some very rough looking sketches by the teams that helped create many of the famous Pixar films, including Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Bug s Life, Up, etc The book is divided by movie and some movies have a lot material than others The contents are kind of crude drawings, some in nature or others in application It was a quick flip and did not have nearly enough text to my liking, but some of the pictures were cute and made me chuckle.

    7. This selection of gags and concept sketches from the Pixar Story Room is adorable, and definitely recommended to fans of the films, animation buffs who love to peek under the hood at how some of this stuff does and doesn t get made, and general lovers of comics and cartoons It s fairly slight, but necessarily so this is essentially a collection of outtakes, so probably a bit esoteric or meh for the general reader The rest of you you know who you are.

    8. I enjoyed the behind the scenes type of drawings that appeared in this book I ve seen all of the movies before, so it was neat to compare the character drawings to what actually ended up in the film The nerd in me also appreciated the drawings were labeled with the medium of art product used to create them.

    9. Most of the Pixar Art of or related books all suffer from the similar negative not enough text However beautiful or energetic the concept work is, and as someone with an interest in concept creation and storyboarding, I m still looking for much text to complement the images.

    10. An interesting behind the scenes look at some of my favorite movies I just wish it had a bit context and commentary As it is, the majority of the images stand up well on their own, but artist or producer insight would have been just that much better.

    11. A fun look into the gag sessions for each movie where jokes are invented in the form of concept art that may find a place in the movie Such jokes as the toy story characters crossing the road in orange construction cones were created here.
