    1. Aidan falls in love with Mary Ellen the very first time he sees her, and she wants to show her attraction but she is a proper English lady and cannot be that free with her feelings The time they spend together the greater the attraction is between them, but he has a deep dark secret that he is terrified of telling her Vampires, werewolves, the truth, family ties, and true love make this a good read

    2. A good novella, but the misuse of the word divulge almost made me put it down before I finished.

    3. The last historical romance novel I read was Diana Gabaldon s Highlander And I must shamefully admit that I did not finish itTherefore I chose a shorter one this time Because nothing is as frustrating as having to leave a book of epic proportions unfinished, with all it s sequels already purchased in paperback OK, I dust them off from time to time and they look good on my bookshelfBut back to this oneI really enjoyed it Likeable characters and quite a lot of suspense despite its shortness. It has [...]

    7. I took a risk on this book since it was free on Barnes Noble and by an author I had never read before Overall, I think it was exactly what it was trying to be an enjoyable way to pass a few hours The characters are familiar if a little annoyingly so , the plot is predictably rushed it is a novella, after all , and the writing isn t challenging It is brain candy and meant to be enjoyed for what it is.

    8. For what is wasa short story held my attention although I felt the book started somewhere in the middle of the story I would be intrigued to learn about the relations between species and what is really going oncertain events left me asking questions about the world This series could potentially be very goodor just a way to make fictional characters hook up with some background anxiety.

    9. I really liked this story I hadn t read book one, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a historical paranormal romance I enjoyed mainly because of the chemistry between Aidan and Mary Ellen, but also because it happened to have a little intrigue mixed in with the romance I will definitely be looking forward, or should I say backward, to reading the first book and any subsequent books in this series.

    10. It started out alright, but there are too many illogical or annoying things E.g the heroine is recognized instantly at a masked ball and wonders why She then realizes it s because she s the only one with red hair, whereupon she asks the hero why he recognized her And straight after she also asks her sister Things like that annoy me.Also, the ending is rushed and therefore a bit weird.

    11. I love Lori Brighton s style of writing She really knows how to keep a reader glued to her books My only complaint about this story is that it was too short, but I definitely want to read in this series I look forward to reading the rest of this series.I read Lori s Mind Readers series although I have not read the new one yet and was completely caught up in that world as well.

    12. I read the first book, and stumbled across this one It s a novella, so it s short, which I actually thought was perfect for this storyline As much as I liked the first book, I kept thinking if it was a little shorter it d be just as good Anyways, this was a nice continuation of the James girls with this being about Mary Ellen.

    13. I chose really liked it because I m interested in reading of this series due to this novella It is not as well written as Lydia Dare books nor did it compare to the MacNachton series of vampire novellas by Hannah Howell which are full meal novellas Worth reading though.

    14. I usually don t like to read about werewolves and vampires in romance novels but I rather enjoyed this story It wasn t heavy on the vampire angle so that pleased me The writing was well done as was the pacing AidanI want one of my own.

    15. Sheena (biblio.boppity.books) says:
I quite enjoy any book by Lori Brighton It s hard for me to find authors that write in the time periods she does without sounding stupid I ve yet to dislike any of her books I ve read so far, and this is no exception. An entertaining, short read Quite enjoyable.

    16. Kind of a short book and lots of questions left unanswered.

    17. Short but good I would have given this a 5 star if the heroine was a witch.

    18. Again, a freebie kindle download This book is a very short book that I read in less than 3 hours but it was pretty addictive.

    19. liked it, would like to read something longer by this author

    20. The story is simple and I am not really fond of the main characters Mary Ellen and Aidan.

    21. Enjoyed this, but thought it was a little overly simplified.

    22. Too shortGreat short read The author has set e everything up so well that you can see it play out visually through her writing
